This policy explains how Legacy Leader handles personal information when you visit legacyleader.ca, subscribe to The Leadership Ledger, or contact Legacy Leader. It is intended to make those practices understandable, not to bury them in legal language.
01
Information collected
When you join The Leadership Ledger
The subscription form may collect your name and email address. The form and mailing list are operated through Squarespace Email Campaigns. Legacy Leader does not collect payment information through this website.
When you contact Legacy Leader
If you send an email, Legacy Leader receives your email address and whatever information you choose to include in the message.
When you use the website
Google Analytics and the website host may process technical and usage information such as browser and device type, approximate location, referring page, pages viewed, interactions, timestamps, and information needed to operate and protect the website.
02
Consent
When you submit the Ledger subscription form, you consent to receiving The Leadership Ledger and its welcome resources. Every Ledger email includes an unsubscribe link. You may withdraw consent at any time, and an unsubscribe request will be honoured as required by applicable law.
By choosing to email Legacy Leader, you consent to the use of the information in your message for the purpose of responding to you.
03
How the information is used
Legacy Leader uses information only for the following purposes:
- To deliver The Leadership Ledger and its welcome resources
- To respond to questions, requests, and reader correspondence
- To understand which pages and resources are useful
- To improve website content, navigation, and performance
- To operate, troubleshoot, and protect the website
- To meet legal obligations when they apply
Legacy Leader does not sell or rent subscriber or visitor information and does not use the mailing list for third-party advertising.
04
Analytics and cookies
This website uses Google Analytics to produce aggregated reports about visits and interactions. Google Analytics may use first-party cookies and collect device, browser, approximate geographic, and on-site activity data. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store individual IP addresses, although an address may be used briefly to derive coarse location information. Legacy Leader does not use Analytics to identify individual visitors.
You can limit cookies through your browser settings or use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking cookies may affect some website functions.
05
Service providers and external links
Legacy Leader relies on service providers to host the website, measure site use, process newsletter subscriptions, and deliver email. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices and may store or process it outside Canada.
- Google Analytics for website measurement
- Squarespace for Ledger subscriptions and email delivery
- OpenAI and its infrastructure providers for website hosting, delivery, and security
Links to Amazon, Facebook, Squarespace, or another external site take you to a service controlled by that organization. Purchases made after following an Amazon link are handled by Amazon, not by Legacy Leader. Their privacy policies govern what happens there.
06
Retention and safeguards
Subscriber information is retained while you remain subscribed and as needed to maintain unsubscribe records. Correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose of the exchange. Analytics information is retained according to the settings and practices of the Analytics account and provider.
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
07

- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of that information
